Sr. Cost AccountantChatsworth, California, United StatesDUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Variance AnalysisCost of Goods Sold AnalysisMargin Analysis and identification of possible re-quotesMonth end close for inventory and WIP in collaboration with our Controller, Operations Manager, and VP of Finance.Item reviews and activate itemsOriginates, develops, and compiles cost data where no standard previous data existsAnalyzes budget variances, interviews appropriate personnel and reports findings.Cost rollupsCost updatesPrepares cost estimates for price quotations of new, redesigned, or modified products for manufacture.Ability to read / understand blueprints and part material spec sheets.Prepares all necessary forms of estimate for approval.Ability to work with a diversity of composite products of complex design entailing a wide scope of manufacturing operations and variationsMonthly Reports for managementAnalyze closed jobs for variance (WIP Account Summary Reports)Run Discrete Job Value ReportUpdate cost records for price changesShop hours summary produced and analyzed in coordination with our ERP system and production management teamInventory obsolescence preparation and reviewReview average costing versus actuals for both material and laborIncreases organization effectiveness by identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costsWorks with various departments, Engineering, Materials, Purchasing, and Manufacturing for accuracy with Routings, Bills of Material, part number set-up and coding, labor reporting and inventory transactions within the manufacturing systemResponsible for integrity and accuracy of costing and inventoryAnalysis of WIP for accuracyAnnually re-set labor and overhead ratesWork with Engineering and Purchasing Departments to set standard costs for all new manufactured partsPrepare Direct Labor Exceptions ReportReview WIP and closing reports for variancesAssist with tying inventory and WIP schedules to GLResponsible for month end JE's relating to costing and inventoryIdentify costing issues before large adjustments are requiredParticipate in cycle countingProvide Jsox cycle count selectionsCoordinate and participate in cycle counts and year-end counts for auditSpecial Projects as assignedJOB SKILLS & ABILITIES:Considerable knowledge of book keeping and accounting and procedures, including intermediate level experience with Microsoft Exel, Word, and Power Point.Knowledge of US GAAP/IFRSAbility to prepare, process, and maintain complex records and reportsAbility to follow complex oral and written instructionsAbility to establish and maintain cooperative relationship with supervisors, associates, and employeesSelf-start, takes initiative, can work with minimal supervisionAbility to begin and complete projects independentlyAttention to DetailExcellent communicationWell organized with ability to prioritize and multi-taskMust be a team playerEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:H.S. Diploma or EquivalentBachelor's Degree in Accounting or Process Engineering preferredFive plus years cost accounting or process engineering experience in a manufacturing environmentExpert knowledge of ExcelERP knowledge required (Infor Manufacturing ERP desired), excellent knowledge and experience with complex manufacturing software requiredGood understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles a plus.Ability to explain and discuss complex cost accounting issuesMust be able to work in an office and manufacturing environmentHave good verbal and written communication skillsAbility to interact professionally with Engineers, Production Staff and Customers.U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident or Refugee/Asylee with Work PermitOther Requirements:Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Must be able to access and navigate each department at organizations' facilities.PAY RANGE: $80K - $99K DOEWork AuthorizationNHBB will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States.
