The Nurse Practitioner, NICU-ED-UC provides comprehensive physical assessment, treatment, psychosocial support, referral, and health education to children and families in clinical settings. This position is accountable for a defined patient population under the supervision of a licensed physician and is the primary provider of care to acute, critical, complex chronically ill and well pediatric patients collaboratively with the Divisions of Neonatology, Emergency Medicine or Urgent Care. The Nurse Practitioner, NICU-ED-UC also functions as a clinical leader, educator, researcher, and consultant.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s DegreeCurrent California Nurse Practitioner LicenseCurrent BLS for Healthcare Providers, issued by AHAFurnishing number, State of California (must obtain within 1 year of employment)DEA license for position that requires the writing of scheduled medications (must obtain within 1 year of employment)Medicare Billing Number (NPI-National Provider Identifier) - (must obtain within 6 months of employment)Certification: Nurse Practitioner, National (must obtain within 1 year of employment)Successfully complete the credentialing process through Medical Staff ServicesSuccessfully complete the requirements of the delegations of Services for the assigned divisionPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Master’s DegreeCurrent PALS certification (AHA)2 years of experience in clinical nursing with emphasis in specialty areaExperience in specialty area as a Nurse PractitionerFormal in-service education and/or lecturing skillsBilingualPHYSICIAN ASSISTANTJOB SUMMARY:

The Physician Assistant, NICU/ED/UC position is accountable for a defined patient population under the supervision of a licensed physician. The Physician Assistant, NICU/ED/UC is the primary provider of care to acute, critical, complex chronically ill and well pediatric patients collaboratively with the Divisions of Neonatology, Emergency Medicine, or Urgent Care. Implements the role of expert practitioner, consultant, educator, and researcher within a specialized area of patient care. Provides preventive, diagnostic, and therapeutic healthcare services within the scope of licensure and in accordance with CSSD policies and procedures.
