About The Role:As the

Manager, Federal Tax

you will be responsible for preparation and/or review of aspects of federal and state income tax returns. Assume overall responsibility for tax affairs of a group of domestic subsidiaries/partnerships. Research and special tax projects, as needed.This is an onsite role in Racine, WIEssential Duties and Responsibilities:Prepare and/or review aspects of the federal and state income tax returns for the parent company, domestic entities, and the consolidated group. Research and gather relevant data, prepare workpapers/analysis, utilized tax compliance software to prepare and file tax returns. Interact with Tax Department personnel, SCJ personnel in other parts of the organization and outside advisorsDevelop deep knowledge of income tax compliance software (Corptax)Manage the complete tax affairs of a portfolio of domestic subsidiaries and partnerships. This includes planning, compliance, audits, and tax accounting (year-end close, return-to-provision, etc.) Assist with non-income tax matters and function as a liaison between subsidiary personnel and the Associate Manager, Federal/Domestic Tax on sales/use, unclaimed property, and gross receipts tax mattersManager federal excise tax complianceManage tax depreciation compliance for the parent company and domestic subsidiaries. Develop CCH FAM expertise and become Super UserPerform research and work on special projects (acquisitions, divestitures, tax law changes, etc.)Required Skills / Experience / Competencies:Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance, with an advanced degree (MST or JD) and/or certification as a Certified Public Accountant or military experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirement5-7 years federal income tax experience, including familiarity with current tax law and pending legislationPreferred Skills / Experience / Competencies:ASC 740 Accounting for Income Taxes and partnership tax experience is considered a definite plus, though not a prerequisite.Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities at the same time.Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with all levels of the organization.Strong interpersonal skills and ability to foster relationships. Ability to work cross-functionally and make meaningful contributions to a team. Ability to influence, lead projects and effectively collaborate to achieve objectives and produce results.Corptax compliance software experience.Job Requirements:Full-time. Overtime is expected at certain times of the year, including but not limited to year-end close, tax return filing season, and when working on time-sensitive projects.Minimal domestic travel, occasionally overnight, primarily to attend seminars or users group conferences or meet with subsidiary personnelRemote work is available once a week for eligible employeesThis role is eligible for domestic relocation
