OverviewWe are seeking a full-time
Counsel
in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing advertising and marketing materials to ensure compliance with applicable law. Additionally, responsible for handling a broad range of corporate law matters, including formation and dissolution of subsidiaries, preparing and negotiating contracts, and performing due diligence on acquisitions. Provides legal advice in a broad range of legal and regulatory compliance areas.Essential FunctionsReview advertising and marketing materials to ensure compliance with applicable competition and advertising laws and mitigation of risk of claimsPerform work on a broad range of corporate law matters, including compliance with corporate laws, preparation of corporate resolutions, maintenance of corporate records, formation and dissolution of subsidiaries, assisting in due diligence on acquisitions, and reviewing and preparing inbound and outbound software and other intellectual property licensing agreements, purchasing and supply agreements, nondisclosure agreements, sponsorship agreements and miscellaneous contractsProvide timely, practical, business-oriented commercial contract advice to internal clientsDraft legal correspondenceEnsure compliance with Garmin processes and procedures for contract approval and executionResearch applicable laws, regulations and rulingsObtain and analyze all relevant information in order to provide accurate legal adviceWork collaboratively and professionally with other Garmin associates in cross functional teams to achieve goalsUnderstand and apply Garmin's Mission, Vision, Values & Quality Policy and enthusiastically exhibit a desire to see Garmin succeedBasic QualificationsLaw Degree from an ABA accredited law schoolAdmission to any state Bar and eligibility for admission to the Kansas BarExcellent undergraduate and law school academic recordMust possess a minimum of 2 years' experience performing essential functions of position either in private practice or in-houseExperience in advertising and marketing law preferredDemonstrate knowledge of Garmin's business and productsDemonstrate an aptitude to learn and effectively apply legal knowledge in the business contextMust be detail-oriented, particularly in document drafting and review, with the ability to work proactively and effectively with minimal supervisionAbility to prioritize and multi-task in a flexible, fast-paced and changing environmentDemonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsMust be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with othersDemonstrate organizational and analytical skills with keen attention to detail and qualityGarmin International is an equal opportunity employer.
