The Controller is a member of the Atlas Executive Team charged with continuing to build the company, realizing the potential inherent in the current Vision. The primary role of the Controller is the curation and reporting on the financial health of Atlas Gunworks. The Controller Leads the Finance Team in developing processes to ensure all business transactions are effectively, efficiently and consistently performed and guided by Atlas values.

As a manufacturing operation, the Controller is involved in the operations of the ERP software and functions to ensure the proper recording and record keeping of all stages of inventory in the manufacturing process. As a partner to all departments, the Controller is responsible to and for improving the performance, productivity, efficiency, and profitability of departmental and organizational operations through the provision of effective policies, procedures, and strategic decision-making in collaboration with the leadership team.

Responsibilities
  • ERP/MRP - validate data in the Manufacturing Management software & transfer to financial software (Quickbooks/Sage experience preferred). Additionally, work with Leadership Team to coordinate activities to improve recording and accuracy of data in the Manufacturing software using automation as much as possible.
  • Banking relationships - maintain communication with contact individuals within the banking partners.
  • Regulatory compliance - ensure paperwork and payments are made in compliance with applicable requirements, regulations and timing.
  • Cost Accounting / AR / AP /Standard Accounting tasks - coordinate and optimize processes to ensure accuracy, repeatability and standardized methodology.
  • Daily, Weekly, Monthly and Annual reporting as determined by the Executive Team to monitor and manage the business and support bank covenants. This includes P&L, Balance sheets and Cash Flow Projection reports compiled from several sources.
  • Monitor and manage Insurance compliance and payments.
  • Lead and direct the Team to perform and operate within expressed and implied Atlas Culture guidelines.


Requirements

Skills & Experience

  • ERP/MRP Software experience in a manufacturing environment with tactical and supervisory Cost Accounting expertise.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain professional relationships with external accountants, creditors, vendors, suppliers, clients, and co-workers.
  • Skilled general ledger accounting experience with full responsibility for preparation of monthly internal financial statements.
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Experience and expertise with MS Teams and MS Office - especially MS Excel.


Education
  • BS in Accounting, Finance or relevant degree preferred.
  • Additional certification (CPA or CMA) not required.
