Job Description:
We are seeking a highly experienced Product Manager with deep expertise in payments and money movement to join our team. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of product management experience in this domain, with a strong understanding of various payment rails such as FedNow, EWS, ACH, wire transfers, bill pay, and Zelle. This role will involve developing market insights, formulating strategies, and leading cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions. This role will directly manage 2 Senior Product Managers and their teams covering our client directed money movement capabilities.

Major Duties:

1. Develop Market Insight: Define target client segment markets and evaluate industry trends, focusing on the payments and money movement landscape.

2. Formulate Strategy: Align cross-functional teams, uncover opportunities in the payments sector, and determine product lifecycle stages.

3. Shape the Value Proposition: Develop business cases, define the marketing mix model, and plan new product launches in the payments and money movement space.

4. Lead New Product Introductions: Oversee the introduction of new payment products to the market, secure regulatory approvals, publish marketing materials, and conduct sales training.

5. Sales Support: Provide sales support, including presenting at client and prospect meetings to showcase our payments and money movement solutions.

6. Performance Tracking: Conduct post-launch audits, analyze product success metrics, P&L, and KPIs, and recommend improvements.

7. Cross-Program Coordination: Create strategies for cross-program coordination and go-to-market rollouts for payments and money movement products.

8. Efficiency and Productivity: Liaise with business units to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and productivity in our payments and money movement offerings.

9. Strategic Planning: Participate in developing the group strategic plan, set goals and priorities, and ensure objectives are met.

10. Leadership: Initiate, assist, participate, or lead efforts impacting payments products or deliverables within the product umbrella, potentially involving other parts of the NT organization, including technology components.

11. Team Development: Conduct performance management and career development processes, provide input for staffing and disciplinary actions, and offer hands-on training to staff.

Knowledge:

- In-depth knowledge of payments and money movement products and industry trends.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, proficient in constructing/overseeing logical and conclusive presentations, and distilling complex subject matter into management-ready materials.
- Strong understanding of Northern Trust products and client needs, particularly in the payments and money movement domain.
- Proven track record of managing, leading, coaching, and developing a team.
- Excellent in building key relationships, influencing, and negotiating with clients, partners, and leaders across multiple disciplines.
- Program or project management experience, with skills in planning, analysis, design, and governance.
- Knowledge of product management necessary for long-term planning and managing the profitability/performance of a major business segment.
- Leadership and organizational skills required to determine business unit goals, resource needs, and staff development.

Experience:

- A College or University degree and/or relevant proven work experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of product management experience specifically in payments and money movement.
