Litigation Attorney

A law firm in Wilmington, DE, is seeking a dedicated Litigation Attorney to handle cases involving professional malpractice and employment claims. The role requires representation of clients throughout all stages of litigation, from initiation to expert discovery. The ideal candidate will excel in legal research, drafting motions, and client communication, with proficiency in managing complex litigation matters.Job Duties:Represent clients in litigation proceedings, including court appearances, hearings, depositions, and case management conferences.Conduct thorough legal research and discovery investigations.Draft a variety of legal documents, including discovery requests and responses, motions, case evaluation summaries, settlement agreements, affidavits, pleadings, and legal memoranda.Review discovery responses and depositions, preparing summaries and litigation update reports.Negotiate with opposing counsel to settle claims.Maintain close communication with clients, providing legal analysis, status reports, and advice throughout the litigation process.Requirements:Juris Doctor (JD) degree and admitted to practice law in Delaware (Barred in DE).Experience in litigation, particularly in medical malpractice, professional liability, and/or employment law is advantageous.Excellent writing and organizational skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Lexis software for legal research.Skills:Strong litigation and negotiation skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.Detail-oriented with exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
