About the Job
This job is for a candidate who has completed a Master's degree or completed or will soon complete a PhD degree in a relevant field. Work may include:
Develop logic models and theories of action
Design or provide input into research and evaluation studies, including randomized control trial (RCT) and quasi-experimental (QED) studies
Develop sampling plans and conduct power analyses for various research study designs
Develop protocols and instruments to collect qualitative and quantitative data
Evaluate the psychometric properties of assessments and other measurement instruments
Coordinate and collect data using qualitative and quantitative methods (e.g., focus groups, surveys, tests, extant databases, alignment workshops)
Analyze qualitative and quantitative data using a variety of tools (e.g., MAXQDA, Excel, SAS, R)
Conduct basic statistical analyses (e.g., descriptive statistics, cross-tabulations)
Write portions of technical reports and briefing materials
Support the development of proposals to secure new contracts
Work collaboratively with colleagues, managers, and clients
This is an on-site position at a HumRRO office (Alexandria, VA; Louisville, KY; Monterey, CA; San Diego, CA; or Minneapolis, MN), with a hybrid telework option.
Requirements and Qualifications
Master's or PhD degree in Educational Assessment and Measurement, Educational Research and Evaluation, Educational Psychology, or related field
Some relevant work experience conducting educational evaluations preferred, especially applying What Works Clearinghouse 5.0 Standards
Familiarity with conducting research in K-12 educational settings preferred
Interest and willingness to work on a variety of projects and tasks across our lines of business
Demonstrated ability to write or revise syntax and code in analytic software applications
Demonstrated ability to communicate orally and in writing
Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize, and manage own work and the work of others
Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of a team
Demonstrated commitment to produce high quality work
Desire to learn and develop inventive methods that respond to client needs
