Job Brief: We are seeking a skilled and motivated Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The Sous Chef will work closely with the Executive Chef to oversee kitchen operations, manage food preparation, and maintain the highest standards of culinary excellence. If you are a culinary professional with a passion for food and a desire to contribute to a dynamic kitchen environment, we want to hear from you.Collaborate with the Executive Chef to plan and execute menus, ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest quality and presentation standards.Supervise and lead kitchen staff, providing guidance and training to ensure efficient and consistent food preparation.Assist in the development of new menu items and recipes, taking into account seasonal ingredients and culinary trends.Oversee daily food preparation, including but not limited to, cooking, portioning, and plating.Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage kitchen budgets to meet cost control goals.Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.Handle food preparation, cooking, and presentation during service hours, stepping in to assist the line as needed.Assist with special events and catering activities, including menu planning and execution.Foster a positive and collaborative kitchen culture, promoting teamwork and professional growth among kitchen staff.Maintain knowledge of industry trends and culinary innovations.Skills Required:Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role in a reputable restaurant or culinary establishment.Culinary degree or relevant certification preferred.Strong culinary skills, including a thorough understanding of various cooking techniques and cuisines.Leadership qualities and the ability to motivate and train kitchen staff.Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen environment.Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.Creative mindset with a passion for culinary arts.
