As the Admission Counselor you will support all aspects of student recruitment, admissions and enrollment for the College of Nursing’s academic programs. This new position within Student Services is well-suited for a dynamic, self-motivated, and collaborative individual.Under the supervision of the Enrollment Manager, this position will contribute to the overall recruitment & enrollment efforts for all Nursing and Gerontology programs. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to attracting, enrolling, and retaining students from historically underrepresented groups. This position requires extensive interaction with prospective students, vendors, community members and other school and university staff. This person must have strong communication and project management skills, have a high-quality service orientation, be an effective team player, and excellent organizer to handle multiple tasks.The University of Utah College of Nursing provides for the comprehensive academic needs of the professions of Nursing and Gerontology. Serving over 700 Nursing and Gerontology students – the College offers Bachelor, Masters, Doctor of Nursing Practice and PhD degrees.Responsibilities:Collaborate with Enrollment Manager and Track Chairs to develop, implement, and evaluate the annual recruitment plan.Learn and master knowledge about each Undergraduate, Graduate, Doctor of Nursing program and PhD, and Gerontology Program in the College of Nursing.Counsel and provide guidance to potential student regarding program and admission processes.Conduct program information sessions.Support recruitment events and efforts hosted by Central Campus Office of Admissions.Work with Academic Program Managers to onboard new Nursing students.Collaborate with the CoN’s Communication Team to inform social media, print, and marketing strategies for recruitment efforts.Serve as point of contact for various hospital Directors of Nursing/Administration, including but not limited to: Program info sessions, information sharing, fliers, etc.Participate in College of Nursing recruitment activities and special events.Serve on College of Nursing committees.Other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications: Requires a bachelor’s degree and 2-4 years’ related experience, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience).Preferences: Skills in Spanish or another language welcomed.Special Instructions Summary: Additional Information: This position may require the successful completion of a criminal background check and/or drug screen.The University of Utah values candidates who have experience working in settings with students and patients from all backgrounds and possess a strong commitment to improving access to higher education and quality healthcare for historically underrepresented students and patients.All qualified individuals are strongly encouraged to apply.
