Located on a prominent corner site, the building greets the neighborhood equally on all three sides, welcoming visitors and residents and connecting Denver's civic, arts, and commercial districts. With its bold facade and inviting arched entrances on each side, Populus establishes a lively and welcoming new destination in downtown Denver. The hotel will be home to two signature food and beverage outlets, a ground floor restaurant and rooftop bar. The thirteen-story building includes 265 guest rooms, mezzanine meeting rooms and breakout spaces, a state-of-the-art fitness and wellness center, and a commitment to sustainability and community unmatched by any other hotel in Denver.

The Sales Manager is responsible for the account production, harmonizing the culture, mission, values, and quality standards to assure maximized potential. This person must create an exceptional climate of professional & personable service that ensures the long-term satisfaction of team members, guests, and owners.

WHAT YOU WILL DOUphold and role model the company's principles of People, Place and Character; and ensure your team and peers are also modeling the way of our values that drive collaboration, intuition and translocal hospitalityBuild and maintain a trusting and transparent relationship with all stakeholders, specifically taking the time to develop rapport and respect with the individuals of your peer group, known as the Executive CommitteeUnderstand who the hotel is and what we aspire to be by following established practices and procedures; and projects the appropriate brand voice and image of each hotel to achieve objectives, public recognition and acceptanceEvaluates, solicits, sells and confirms business in assigned market area to meet overall budgeted sales and profitability; control dates, availability, and rates on guest rooms and function spaceParticipate in the development of the annual sales and marketing plan by developing objectives, goals, and strategies for the BT market.Supervise and coordinate day-to-day BT sales operations, ensuring focus on goals and objectivesMaintain complete knowledge of all hotel service/features, hours of operation and programsSales Manager meets and or exceeds expectations of monthly revenue and sales goal activitiesConduct quarterly reviews of accounts to ensure production and assumed pace for targeted goalsReview Hotelligence Reports and develop plans to pursue new businessMaintain contact with largest producing accounts, detecting increased potential, and ensuring amplified serviceAnnual RFP season negotiations and new contract agreementsAbility to conduct outside sales calls to promote the hotel and knowledge of our serviceEnsure site visits are organized to meet established goalsWork with room division to forecast occupancy and inventory control to maximize results from different market segmentsWork with rooms division to establish rates, packages and Business Transient PricingCoordinate and participate in different events and activities (blitzes, expositions, fairs, family trips, site inspections, etc.)Ensure constant and open flow of communication between rooms division and sales departmentEnsure all negotiations and contract comply with established hotel policies and proceduresComplete all required sales reports for Director of Sales & Marketing and Director of RevenueMaintain all company quality standardsRespond to opportunities with a sense of urgency

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

Minimum of two (2) years' experience in Sales within upscale, lifestyle or luxury hospitality companies; prior BT Sales experience requiredBachelor's degree in sales, marketing, communications, or hospitality is preferred, though not required, if you have the proven years of experience in a Sales Manager rolePast experience of working within a boutique-lifestyle or independent hotel company is a plus; as you will need to be confident in working without a big-box hotel company central reservation systemProfessional proficiency of the English language in reading, writing and verbal communicationBasic knowledge of how to operate all office equipmentProficient with Opera, Delphi, Word and ExcelMaintain a well groomed appearanceAbility to maintain a clean and organized work stationBasic knowledge of property management and central reservation systems

Salary Range: $70,000 - $75,000

Pay Range:

$70,000 - $75,000 per hour
