Job Description
The Senior AP Specialist will be responsible for the day-to-day accounts payable transactions including processing invoices, validating invoice coding and approvals, and matching to purchase orders. In addition to implementing and completing analytical reports for all systems utilized in paying Tricon vendors.Invoice expense coding, processing, obtaining timely approvals, and matching invoices to purchase ordersAnalyze, code, prioritize and process invoicing for property tax, HOA's, insurance, property expenses and normal general and administrative operating activity expensesKnowledge of capitalization policy for proper codingAnnual reconciliation of vendor activity and assist with distribution of 1099sMonthly, quarterly & annual vendor account reconcilingAssist with month end closing, ensuring work orders are closed or matched to a purchase order, all invoices are processed within the month receivedExperience in an electronic accounts payable processing environment. Provide supporting documentation for audits.Identify and research outstanding invoicesBudget variance analysis & control
Qualifications:Knowledge of Yardi accounting platform a major plusProficiency with Excel - Basic to intermediate formulaic abilities, knowledge of Pivot Tables, Look-up functions and reportingKnowledge of general bookkeeping and accountingKnowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements2 years of successful experience in accounts payablePrior property management experience a plusCustomer service backgroundDemonstrate experience with general ledger account reconciliations including month end closing processes and general knowledge of accounting principles
Minimum Requirements:High school diploma required, college courses in accounting preferred.Demonstrated attention to detailsAbility to work independently, taking ownership of all work product and completing work within specified deadlinesAbility to work in a team environmentSolid math and financial acumenStrong communication skills both written and verbalThe ability to multi-task and willingness to take on new challenges and gain new skills.The ability to work effectively in a high growth environment and a rapidly changing organization
