Position Overview:The Staff Accountant role is within the Corporate Accounting Department which is a dynamic team responsible for all financial transactions, tax accounting, and financial reporting for the firm, including the consolidation of three foreign subsidiaries and all reporting provided to our parent company. The Staff Accountant will be expected to record daily financial transactions and ensure accuracy in the general ledger, as well as reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts regularly. They will also assist with the monthly financial close process to ensure that all transactions are posted correctly and reflected accurately on the financial reports. Applications currently utilized within the department are Great Plains accounting system, Management Reporter, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and the internal client billing system.Acadian supports a hybrid work environment, employees are on-site in the Boston office 3 days a week.What You’ll Do:Review and integrate Singapore, UK, and Australia monthly financials for the monthly close.Manage intercompany expenses: oversee reconciliation, coordination with subsidiaries, and resolution of discrepancies for accurate and timely reporting of intercompany transactions.Manage lease accounting processes including recording lease transactions and ensuring compliance with lease accounting standards (ASC 842 and IFRS 16).Accounts receivable collections: strengthen collection procedures, monitor aged receivables, collaborate on billing inquiries, and provide regular updates to ensure timely customer payments and optimized cash flow.Maintain and update the fixed asset register, ensuring accurate depreciation calculations.Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and liaise with auditors during annual audits.Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, investment, and operations, to support overall business objectives.Assist with the reporting of financial and operational data to parent company.We’re Looking for Teammates With:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA designation or in the process of obtaining CPA is preferred2-5 years of public accounting experience or experience in a similar roleProficient in accounting software and Microsoft ExcelStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsGood written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work in a team environment, multi-task and work well under pressure in a fast-paced environmentWhy Work Here:Acadian is a quantitative investment firm where ideas are empowered by technology.
