Prominent full-service nationwide law firm with over 40 years of experience representing survivors of catastrophic and traumatic events is seeking a Litigation Paralegal to join their team. Candidates must be comfortable working with sexual abuse and assault cases, experience as a social worker or with trauma-related victims is a plus. Ideal Candidates will have experience with negligence and personal injury cases. Experience reviewing medical records or working in a fast paced environment is a plus. Must be reliable, professional and able to work as part of our close-knit team and to interact with clients. Responsibilities include:
Communicating with clients
Drafting and preparing memorandums of client interviews
Drafting and preparing correspondences and medical record authorizations
Obtaining and exchanging medical records
Court filings
Other administrative duties as needed
Qualifications:
Must have 3+ years of experience with negligence and personal injury cases
Paralegal Certification preferred, bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
Must be comfortable working with sexual abuse and assault cases, experience as a social worker or with trauma-related victims is a plus
Experience reviewing medical records or working in a fast paced environment is preferred
Must have superior verbal and written communication skills
Must be detail oriented and have excellent organizational skills
Must be compassionate to the needs of clients
Must live within a 30-45 minute drive from the Melville, NY office
