Title: Japanese Bilingual Project Assistant (Japanese Food Trade)Location: Downtown Los Angeles, CA (Hybrid)FLSA: Non-Exempt, Full-TimeWorking Hours: Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (with 1 hour unpaid lunch break) (Expected overtime: approximately 40 hours per month, subject to change depending on projects)Overview:

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join the team at the organization that promotes U.S.-Japan trade. As a Project Assistant, you will be engaged in the firm's initiatives to support clients from Japan in the food, agricultural, forestry, and fishery product industry with import, market expansion, and consumption growth in the U.S. market.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include but are Not Limited to:

Maintain a database of clients interested in exporting food products from Japan as well as potential U.S. buyers interested in products.Provide administrative and operational support for export promotion initiatives, including tracking progress towards goals.Research and develop a potential list of US companies interested in Japanese products.Conduct market research on Japanese product exports to the US and prepare informative reports for interested parties such as Japanese food producers, local government, and commodity organizations in Japan.Develop and support partnerships with organizations that can facilitate Japanese product exports to the US, such as government agencies, industry associations, and tourism boards.Prepare and manage internal documents related to export promotion activities.Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor to support export promotion efforts.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in international relations, business administration, or a related field; or a combination of education and relevant experience.Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Japanese.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Zoom).Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling seamless interactions with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.Possess interest in Japanese food products, trades, and/or marketing and promotion.Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Strong organizational and time management skills.
