This individual in this position works under the direction of RN Case Manager and/or Social Worker. The individual's responsibilities include but are not limited to the following actions:a) Follow up on patient accounts when authorization for stay is required, Fax numbers to Send clinical reviewsb) Follow up on each account during the stay and on discharge for authorization - document in the electronic systemc) Escalate any potential disputes or denial of accounts to Director of Case Management or designeed) Trends disputed claims by at least payor and physiciane) Assist in obtaining authorization for patient discharge to Skilled Facilities or other post-acute care that require authorizationf) Other duties as assignedTotal Compensation

Skills required include excellent organizational skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrated problem-solving skills, and computer literacy. Attendance at hospital and department orientation is required. Department orientation includes review and instruction regarding Case Management and Compliance policies, Case Management documentation and referral system and clerical support duties specific to case management.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health SystemAbility to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workloadMust demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the jobExcellent written and verbal communication skills in EnglishMust possess the skill, knowledge, and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned dutiesPreferred Qualifications:Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures, and forms. Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred. Paramedic, EMT, or Nursing Assistants certification preferred. Acute hospital experience preferred. Data analytic skills preferred.Conditions of Employment:
