We're looking for a detail-oriented, energetic, and self-driven Intern/Staff Accountant for our Great Los Angeles start-up company. The position will work closely with our Finance Manager, supporting and Research personnel, and handle day-to-day accounting tasks, with an initial focus on Accounts Payables.

Responsibilities:Ensure that the books under his/her responsibilities (P&L /BS) in compliance with US GAAP rulesReview and verify invoices and payment requestsCheck, enter, and upload invoices into the system and set them up for timely paymentProcess expense reports and reimbursement requestsMonitor accounts to ensure payments are up to dateResearch and resolve invoice discrepancies and issuesMaintain vendor files and office leasesCorrespond with vendors and respond to inquiriesManage and reconcile the company card on a monthly basisManage fixed assets records and movementContribute to process improvement ideas and implementationAssist with financial planning, forecasting and monitoring of results versus objectivesIdentify weakness in internal process control and suggest improvementsAssess and highlight opportunities for increased cost efficienciesAssist with ad hoc reporting, analysis or projects as required

Qualifications and Skills:Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting or equivalent professional certification with 2 - 3 years of relevant general accounting experience, or equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilitiesKnowledge of accounts payable and general accepted accounting principles and proceduresMust be detail oriented and possess good organization skillsProficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced)Strong oral/written communication skills, customer services oriented, and demonstrate the ability to work and communicate with all levels of employees and stakeholdersCommitment to continuous improvement and comfortable performing in an evolving work environmentAbility to work independently, and prioritize work activities efficiently to meet deadlinesAbility to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with co-workers, other departments and vendorsQuickBooks knowledge preferredMandarin speaking preferred
