Staff Accountant
for our Corporate Finance Department in Minneapolis, MN.

This is an excellent opportunity to join our team!Located close to downtown Minneapolis, with free parking available!Salary range: $70,000 - $85,000/yearJob Summary:Assist in the month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, audit support, financial analysis, and projects as assigned.Position Responsibilities:Compile/prepare monthly journal entries and work with Controller to meet monthly close schedule.Report monthly financial results, provide variance analysis and explanations.Prepare monthly cash reconciliations and maintain various balance sheet account schedules to ensure reporting integrity.Utilize business acumen to provide analytical problem solving and drive process improvements.Execute special projects in the areas of financial and business analysis as needed.Leverage technology to create workflow efficiencies.Assist in the review of Accounts Payable invoices, ensuring the accuracy of account classification is adhered to in accordance with GAAP and internal policy.Assist with government surveys and ad hoc compliance reporting.Perform other duties as assigned.Experience/Qualifications:Associate's OR Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.Minimum of four years accounting or finance experience in a corporate environment or two years of experience in a public accounting environment.Demonstrates functional knowledge of GAAP and financial statements.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Intermediate experience with MS Office Suite, in particular Excel.Ability to articulate and answer accounting/finance questions for both internal and external audiences.Strong work ethic with a focus on ethical conduct.If you are interested in becoming part of the Walman Team, please apply online today.The Walman Optical Company is committed to providing Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) to all employees and applicants.
