At RWJBarnabas Health, our market-competitive Total Rewards package provides comprehensive benefits and resources to support our employees' physical, emotional, social, and financial health:Paid Time Off (PTO)Medical and Prescription Drug InsuranceDental and Vision InsuranceRetirement PlansShort & Long Term DisabilityTuition ReimbursementFlexible Spending AccountsWellness ProgramsVoluntary Benefits (e.g., Pet Insurance)Discounts Through our Partners such as NJ Devils, NJ PAC, Verizon, and more!The Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) for the Jack and Sheryl Morris Cancer Center, in conjunction with the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of RWJUH and the Senior Vice President (SVP) of Oncology Administration, is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Jack and Cheryl Morris Cancer Center.Reports to:The Chief Administrative Officer for the Jack and Sheryl Morris Cancer Center reports directly to the COO of RWJ University Hospital New Brunswick with a matrixed reporting relationship to the SVP of Oncology Administration.Essential Functions:Drive the delivery of exceptional patient care by collaborating with clinical leaders to implement evidence-based practices and innovative treatments.Ensure patient-centric approaches and the highest quality and safety standards in clinical care.Lead a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement to advance cancer patient care in full alignment with the Cancer Institute's teaching, research, and service missions.Drive greater performance through system-thinking and creativity to create the ideal patient experience by continuously improving quality metrics, employee engagement, patient care services, expense reduction, managing staffing ratios, productivity, and service line growth and expansion.Work collaboratively with the executive team to elevate RWJUH Oncology Services/Rutgers Cancer Center into the Top 50 Cancer Programs in the Nation by 2031, supporting the vision for honor roll status in US News & World Report.Oversee the Cancer Center's capital requirements with the exception of Radiation Oncology.Effectively establish and navigate a network of relationships with RWJUH leadership, Rutgers University, the Rutgers Cancer Institute, and the Oncology Service line towards full integration around the mission and vision of the academic medical enterprise and the Oncology Service Line at RWJBH.Work in a team with top-level executives to devise strategies and policies to meet hospital, health system, and service line goals.Manage the day-to-day operations of various departments, such as finance, sales, HR, and marketing.Manage budgets, hiring and contracting, and business negotiations.Analyze audit reports and formulate improvements to departmental workings, improving quality, discharge home, patient satisfaction, and other metrics as identified.Achieve and exceed benchmarks for LOS and re-admissions.Coordinate inter-departmental activities and delegate responsibilities to subordinates.Compile performance reports and report to the CEO, President, COO, and SVP of Oncology Services and board of directors, ensuring all IRS laws, government regulations, and SEC rules are met.Ensure that the Cancer Center is in compliance with all applicable policies, laws, and regulations.Other Duties:Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice.Qualifications:Master's degree required, preferably MBA coupled with in-depth knowledge of healthcare financials and market analyses.7-10 years of progressive health care operational experience in an academic medical center environment.A minimum of ten years of successful progressive healthcare/facility management experience preferably in Oncology Services.A demonstrable record of significant career progression, having culminated in a senior management position as either a Chief Administrative Officer, Senior Operations Officer, or Chief Operating Officer in a progressive, financially sound health care system.High level, complex problem-solving abilities both in groups and in one-on-one situations.Ability to translate the mission and vision to everyday work.Ability to manage and lead in a matrixed organization.Ability to cultivate and foster relationships at every level of the organization (locally at the hospital, within the system, and board relations).A working knowledge of government regulations for the business.
