Description
The Visual Communications Specialist is responsible for the internal and external visual communications of the Atlanta Humane Society. The Specialist will provide expertise to execute brand utilization across the organization and ensure guidelines are adhered to. They will establish and implement sharp, compassionate, and influential design principles across the Atlanta Humane Society's communication platforms and capture images that accurately and impactfully portray the organizations mission work.
Duties & Responsibilities
Create and implement branded collateral across print and multimedia platformsDesign visual communication components for newsletters, donor touchpoints, marketing campaigns, website graphics, blogs, and other communication piecesCreate and establish design concepts for in-shelter communications including promotions, signage, displays, animal information, employee communications, recognition, etc.Prepare printer-ready art files and work closely with external printers/vendors to ensure quality materialsAssist with copywriting and copyediting of graphic design projectsEnsure timely production and delivery of materialsWork with key team members to help ensure sheltering and veterinary center facilities uphold brand standards in their physical appearance and signageResolve any production or scheduling problems, maintaining positive, proactive communication with impacted stakeholders as appropriateWork alongside the Associate Vice President of Marketing and Communications and other departments as part of project teams to provide design, conceptualization, and solutions pertaining to deliverablesFoster teamwork; work closely with marketing team and other departments to accomplish goalsOther duties as assignedQualifications
Must demonstrate strong clear, concise writing and editing skillsGood eye for design and visual aestheticsExcellent organization, project and timeline management abilities; Manage multiple projects from concept through to completionGreat attention to detailSkilled in Adobe Creative Suite programs (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)Demonstrated ability to relate well with others while collaborating in a team environmentDemonstrated ability to self-manage projects and have strong time-management skillsBachelors degreeMinimum of 2 - 4 years related experiencePotentially subject to animal bites and scratchesFrequent walking, standing, bending and stoopingMust be able to lift, push and pull up to 50lbs, with reasonable accommodationsMust possess a valid Georgia drivers license in good standing or have the ability to obtain a valid Georgia drivers license
