Full-TimePosition Summary:Owego Church of the Nazarene is seeking a dedicated and passionate Associate Pastor to oversee discipleship programs and assist with the overall operations of the church. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Wesleyan theology, a heart for spiritual growth, and the ability to preach as needed. This role requires a commitment to personal spiritual development through prayer and Bible reading, and a drive to foster spiritual growth within the church community.Key Responsibilities:Discipleship Leadership:

Develop, implement, and oversee discipleship programs to nurture the spiritual growth of church members. This includes small groups, Bible studies, and mentorship programs.Preaching and Teaching:

Assist the Senior Pastor in preaching during services as needed. Prepare and deliver sermons that are biblically sound and relevant to the congregation.Pastoral Care:

Provide pastoral care and counseling to church members, addressing their spiritual, emotional, and physical needs.Church Operations:

Assist in the day-to-day operations of the church, including administrative duties, event planning, and coordination of volunteers.Worship Services:

Collaborate with the worship team to ensure that worship services are spiritually enriching and align with the church’s mission and values.Community Outreach:

Engage with the local community to promote the church’s mission, outreach programs, and community events.Personal Spiritual Growth:

Commit to ongoing personal spiritual development through regular prayer, Bible study, and participation in accountability groups.Theological Integrity:

Uphold and teach the principles of Wesleyan theology in all aspects of ministry.Team Collaboration:

Work closely with the Senior Pastor, church staff, and ministry leaders to support the overall mission and vision of the church.Qualifications:Education:

No required degree; however, knowledge or experience that is equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in Theology, Ministry, or a related field.Experience:

Minimum of 3-5 years of pastoral or ministry experience, preferably in a church setting or Para-church organization.Theological Knowledge:

Strong understanding and commitment to Wesleyan theology and the doctrine of the Church of the Nazarene.Communication Skills:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to preach and teach effectively.Leadership:

Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate others.Pastoral Care:

Compassionate and empathetic approach to pastoral care and counseling.Administrative Skills:

Strong organizational and administrative abilities.Personal Qualities:
