Are you a veterinarian ready to take your career to the next level? At NVA, we're not just a network of over 1,000 veterinary hospitals - we're a passionate crew united by our love for animals and the belief that working as a team elevates pet care to new heights. As a Medical Director with NVA, you'll experience a true sense of belonging, empowerment, and endless opportunities for career growth.
If you're craving a chance to spread your wings with opportunities to pursue joint-venture partnerships while staying connected to your veterinary passions, let's explore this opportunity at Mason Family Pet Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio!
The Opportunity:
As the Medical Director at Mason Family Pet Hospital, you'll keep doing what you love - practicing veterinary medicine and seeing the furry faces that make your day. But you'll also provide vital medical leadership, oversee the veterinary team, ensure we follow all the rules, and cultivate an environment where exceptional pet care thrives. You'll develop medical protocols, mentor colleagues, and collaborate with the practice manager on finances, budgeting, and operational optimization.
We are a busy 6-doctor, small animal practice (dogs, cats, rabbits, pocket pets and reptiles), and we are continuing to grow! Located in Northeast Cincinnati, Mason is a fast-growing community and one of Greater Cincinnati's most desirable areas for excellent schools, nice neighborhoods, and convenient shopping and recreation. Our hospital is a modern, well-equipped, recently expanded and remodeled facility with nearby specialists to provide advanced support as needed.
Our staff of approximately 25 employees, including 3 (soon to be 4!) licensed RVTs, is dedicated to excellent patient care and honest and friendly customer service. Teamwork is key at Mason Family, and each doctor works with 2.5 assistants/RVTs while seeing appointments and 2 technicians (1 RVT & 1 assistant) during surgery.
"I enjoy working as a vet receptionist at Mason Family Pet Hospital because I get to be part of a team that truly cares about the well-being of pets. It's rewarding to interact with pet owners and help them feel comfortable, knowing their pets are in good hands. The supportive environment and the opportunity to learn more about veterinary care make each day fulfilling." - Shannon P.
Our ideal candidate demonstrates a genuine concern for pets and people, and excellent communication skills. We are specifically looking for someone who is excited about collaboration and mentorship, and who has an interest in learning more about the financial and operational components of leading an animal hospital. Work a full-time schedule with at least one weekday off, alternating Saturdays, and no emergency duty.
"Can't overstate how much I love this place. They don't push things on you, but they offer options to help your pet. Our Lab, Daisy, turns 13 on Monday, and they have been so helpful in keeping her a young 91 year old (in dog years). We are very thankful for what they've done for our pup!" - Jeff A.
We expect you'll spend roughly 5-10% of your time with administrative functions and 90-95% of your time taking care of pets.
Compensation will depend on experience and will be coupled with a full benefit and bonus package!
Your Qualifications:
• DVM degree from an accredited university and an active state license
• At least 5 years of experience as an associate veterinarian
• Unwavering commitment to practicing world-class veterinary medicine
• Skillful ability to delegate, develop, and inspire a winning team
• Top-notch communication and coaching talents
