Job Description

Summary

The purpose of this job is to supervise EV charging commercial operations, to identify and develop EV charging business opportunities and lead the origination, development, and negotiation processes to execute on those opportunities.

Essential Functions

Identify and develop electric vehicle charging growth opportunities that align with Pilot Company’s strategic growth initiatives

Lead the development of business cases for new EV charging business lines and expansion of existing EV charging business lines to new store locations through partnerships with internal stakeholders to include legal, construction and finance teams.

Deliver opportunity assessment and strategy recommendations to company stakeholders regarding new EV charging business lines; identify potential impediments to successful execution

Incorporate awareness of relevant trends in EV markets, public policy/regulatory affairs, and utility tariffs to help build and lead execution on integrated EV charging commercial strategy

Lead Pilot strategic efforts across functional areas to include Pilot Energy, Marketing, Digital Transformation, Retail Technology and Business Planning and Change Management teams to develop and execute on an EV charging customer engagement and experience strategy consistent with Pilot’s values and expectations for excellence

Build and implement a system of business unit metrics to evaluate the operational effectiveness of sales development strategies and customer interaction opportunities

Lead team of analysts and managers as well as subject matter experts from other functional areas, as assigned

Model behaviors that support the company’s common purpose; ensure guests and team members are supported at the highest level

Ensure all activities are in compliance with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures

Complete other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in management, finance, economics, social sciences, or engineering required. Master’s degree strongly preferred

Minimum 10+ years’ experience and 3-5 years’ leadership experience in commercial structuring, sales, business development, mergers and acquisitions or project development required.

Specialized Knowledge

Advanced Microsoft Office skills required

1-3 years’ experience working in the EV charging or retail power/utilities industry strongly preferred

Demonstrated understanding of legal, regulatory, and accounting aspects of commercial transaction structuring, real estate, and infrastructure development

Knowledge and understanding of utility tariffs and rate structures
