About the PositionThe Golden State Valkyries are looking for a Manager of Analytics to join our inaugural front office. In this role, you will be an individual contributor on a multidisciplinary team responsible for information support to Basketball Operations stakeholders. Additionally, you will have a large influence over our reporting model, automated reports, and how we implement the outputs of our predictive models into decision making. This position reports to the Director, Player Development.

This is a full-time position based onsite in Oakland with regular time spent in San Francisco, CA.

Key Responsibilities

Own the formatting and content of the reporting layer, including the data model sitting underneath.

Integrate outputs of our research and development projects into the reporting layer.

Own ad hoc analysis projects with Basketball Operations staff.

Serve as liaison between the Analytics Group and stakeholders which may include being an on-call resource for coaches in game planning and strategy.

Maintain a pulse on the entire WNBA, demonstrating advanced knowledge of teams, players, and trends.

Organize and log scouting reports submitted by front office scouts.

Other projects as assigned.

Required Experience & Skills

Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, or equivalent work experience.

Minimum 3 years working on a data team.

High proficiency in SQL; Proficiency in DBT, Git, reporting tools.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Excellent written and verbal communication, customer service, and resolution skills.

Ability to build positive relationships with clients and peers at all levels within the organization.

Experience building data models and using data to tell stories and influence decision-makers.

Experience presenting to technical and non-technical staff.

Ability to balance multiple projects at once in a fast-paced work environment.

Time Commitment

Ability to maintain a flexible schedule as non-traditional hours may be required.

Compensation

$70,000 per hour + Bonus.
