Multi-Modality Radiology Tech at Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital Fort Worth:

Performs quality diagnostic procedures accurately and in a timely manner for Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital at Fort Worth and Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital at Fort Worth Outpatient Center.

Operates MRI, CT, X-ray equipment, prepares patient’s room, equipment, supplies and medications.

Provides patient services using imaging modalities.

Practices proper radiation safety techniques on all exams performed.

Exams include diagnostic exams in MRI/CT and portable exams as needed.

Required Skills

Education

High School diploma or equivalent

Graduate of AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology

Licensure/Certification

Current & Active American Registry of Radiologic Technologies (ARRT) Certificate

Current & Active Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) General License, CT and MR

Current BLS certification

Required Experience

Two to five years’ experience specific to surgical/diagnostic radiological exam

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

The Radiology Technologist operates X-ray equipment, prepares patient’s room, equipment, supplies and medications.

Provides patient services using imaging modalities.

Practices proper MRI safety techniques on all exams performed.

Performs all Quality control checks, as prescribed.

Maintains accurate QC logs, service records, etc.

Performs highest quality imaging consistent with prescribed examination: documents and deviation.

Practices medical and surgical aseptic procedures.

Investigates promptly and follows up on unusual incidents and communicates with Director.

Takes emergency call as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Demonstrates responsibility for the care and safety of patients undergoing treatment and use of equipment.

Demonstrates ability to assess data, prioritize care, and plan interventions.

Demonstrates ability to discuss treatment/service and to provide education information to patients/families.

Ability to utilize Electronic Healthcare Record for patient documentation.
