Required Skills

Education:

High School diploma or equivalent

Graduate of AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology

Licensure/Certification:

Current & Active American Registry of Radiologic Technologies (ARRT) Certificate

Current BLS certification

Required Experience

Specific Job Experience:

Two to five years’ experience specific to surgical radiological exam

Ortho and Spine experience required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Demonstrates responsibility for the care and safety of patients undergoing treatment and use of equipment to minimize hazards of electric shock, burns and extraneous radiation to patients.

Demonstrates ability to assess data, prioritize care, and plan interventions dependent on the age group of the population served.

Demonstrates ability to discuss treatment/service and to provide education information to patients/families in age group served.

Ability to utilize Electronic Healthcare Record for patient documentation.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

The OR Radiology Technician operates X-ray equipment, C-ARMS and prepares patient’s room, equipment, and supplies.

Provides patient services using imaging modalities.

Practices proper radiation safety techniques on all exams performed.

Performs all Quality control checks, as prescribed.

Maintains accurate QC logs, service records, etc.

Performs highest quality imaging consistent with prescribed examination: documents and deviation.

Practices surgical aseptic procedures.

Investigates promptly and follows up on unusual incidents and communicates with Direct.

Takes emergency call as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education:

High School diploma or equivalent

Graduate of AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology

Licensure/Certification:

Current & Active American Registry of Radiologic Technologies (ARRT) Certificate

Current BLS certification
