The Department of Art & Art History offers courses leading to a B.A. degree in Art History and B.A. and B.F.A. degrees in Studio Art. The Studio Art curriculum is designed to develop the ability to create, analyze, interpret, and evaluate art. Familiarity with safe instructional use of tools, equipment, and techniques is required for teaching the following Studio Art courses:PaintingDrawingPrintmakingPhotographySculptureCeramicsProfessional QualificationsTo be recommended for appointment, the candidate must have the following requirements for Art Studio courses:MFA or an equivalent degree in the area they are applying (e.g., MFA in Sculpture).Two years of teaching experience at the college level (not including T.A. experience).Strong record of exhibition on the regional and national levels.Professional and technical experience in studio art, and experience in preparing students in art theory, critical discourse practice, and contemporary art.Rank and SalaryFull-time is a 15-unit workload per semester.
