Founded in 1960, SSU is one of the 23 campuses of the California State University System.The DepartmentThe Anthropology Program at Sonoma State University teaches students about many different cultures throughout the world. The Anthropology Department offers a B.A. in Anthropology, a minor in Anthropology, an M.A. in Cultural Resources Management (CRM), and a B.A. in Human Development.Duties of the PositionThe department seeks instructors in undergraduate courses in any one or more of the four traditional subfields of archaeology, cultural, biological, and linguistic anthropology, at either lower-division or upper-division levels.Professional QualificationsTo be recommended for appointment, the candidate must have:A Ph.D. in Anthropology, preferably with specialization in the subdiscipline(s) relevant to the courses that the applicant proposes to teach. A.B.D.s, M.A.s, and Ph.D.s in related disciplines with sufficient teaching, work, and/or research experience in the area of specialization will be considered. Experience teaching in hybrid and/or online modalities is desirable.Rank and SalaryFull-time is a 15-unit workload per semester.
