NoEssential Job Functions:Manages FTE faculty members and administrative support staff assigned to the program.Supervises the activities of the Medical Director, Academic Director, Clinical Director, faculty, and staff.Responsible for the organization, administration, review, planning and development of the program.Continually reviews the Program's curriculum to assess effectiveness of both the academic and clinical aspects of the program.Works in conjunction with the Medical Director to ensure the delivery of quality academic programs.Oversees the scheduling of classes, clinical rotations, and the reporting of student grades.Monitors the recruitment of faculty and students.Oversees the development and evaluation of faculty.Advises and counsels students, faculty and staff in matters pertaining to the program.Maintains responsibility of articulation between the Physician Assistant Program and other departments/programs within the Health Professions Division.Responds to requests for data/information from supervisors, other college/university units and external agencies.Conducts regular faculty/staff meetings and establishes department committees as needed.Ensures appropriate databases, records and documents are maintained as needed.Reduces, resolves, and prevents conflict among program personnel.Represents the department at university functions and advisory committee meetings.Facilitates alumni relations and networks with colleagues.Academic Responsibilities:Oversees the accreditation and self-study processes.Teaches in the classroom and in physical diagnosis/surgical labs.Participates in committees for the College of Health Care Sciences and the Physician Assistant profession.Works with the Dean and other directors to set program guidelines and objectives.Promotes academic excellence and innovation.Ensures program meets/exceeds accreditation standards.Financial Responsibilities:Projects and manages the Physician Assistant Department budget.Aids in establishing needs for equipment and supplies.Assists in the procurement of outside funding through grants and contracts.Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific journals, financial reports, and legal documents.Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from students and regulatory agencies.Ability to effectively present information to management and public groups.Ability to apply basic financial and accounting concepts.Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.Ability to demonstrate effective personnel management skills.Energetic, articulate, visionary, and an effective decision maker.Maintain a personal professional development plan.Job Requirements:Required Certifications/Licensures:

Hold current certification by the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants and be eligible for licensure as a Physician Assistant in Florida.Required Education:

Master's Degree.Required Experience:

Graduate of an accredited physician assistant program with a minimum of five (5) years of clinical experience.Preferred Qualifications:Doctoral degree in related area of specialization.Prior experience in training of Physician Assistant students.Is this a safety sensitive position?
