Job Title:Director - Community Engagement - 991968

Essential Job Functions:

Plans, directs, supervises, and coordinates work activities of direct reports (when applicable), including coaching and evaluating, all in accordance with University policies and procedures.

Serves as the primary contact for industry partners, residents, visitors, guests, and NSU stakeholders (i.e., academic and department deans, faculty, staff).

Ensures all participants are having a positive experience and identifies, addresses, and rectifies challenges as they transpire. Connects participants to the appropriate resources when necessary.

Assists with VIP guest tours.

Promotes new opportunities that engage the NSU network and assists with managing internal strategic partnerships.

Acts as the primary day-to-day liaison for the Levan | Community Advisory Council model working in collaboration with the Chief Innovation Officer, NSU & Executive Director, Alan B. Levan NSU Broward Center of Innovation, co-chairs, and committee chairs, and committees representing each of the defined pillars.

Contributes to the development of the strategic plan and communications strategy.

Represents the Alan B. Levan NSU Broward Center of Innovation, when assigned, with vendors, academic partners, industry, government, foundations, trade associations, and other partners.

Acts as a brand ambassador in the community to boost awareness, build relationships with customers, potential customers, and industry professionals.

Collaborates regularly with the Assistant Executive Director of Programs & Membership Design to expand programs and membership base, and in recruiting Charter Members.

Manages the community/membership database.

Participates in recruiting top-tier, early-stage entrepreneurs for anchor and general programs and recruiting industry partners to support programming, sponsorships, and new opportunities that support the mission of the Center.

Collaborates regularly with the Assistant Executive Director of Administration & Operations to support business operations, policies, and procedures.

Collaborates regularly with the assigned Executive Director of University Advancement to support fundraising activities for operations, philanthropy, and endowment.

Assists with preparation pertaining to Board of Governor meetings.

Responds to requests for reports, training, presentations, and service on committees (internal and/or external) from the Chief Innovation Officer, NSU & Executive Director, Alan B. Levan NSU Broward Center of Innovation.

Attends meetings, conferences, exhibitions, and related events and serves on committees as required.

Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

Demonstrated expertise in entrepreneurship, innovation, technology, or related area.

Demonstrated expertise in implementation, communications, and evaluation.

Proven track record in building effective collaborative partnerships and networks across areas, communities, and systems.

Excellent written and oral communication skills applied in accessible and relatable ways.

Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task.

Experience working in a startup organization and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment.

Bachelor’s Degree

Required Experience:

Five (5) or more years of related business experience.
