Not ApplicableThe Physics department at Syracuse University is soliciting applications for a postdoctoral researcher who will work in Experimental High Energy Physics on the LHCb experiment and its Upgrades. The initial appointment is for one year with the possibility of renewal. The appointment can begin early 2024.Qualifications:PhD in Experimental High Energy PhysicsJob Specific Qualifications:Experience in experimental hardware and/or physics analysis.Responsibilities:Develop a realistic set of specifications for the calorimeter for LHCb Upgrade 2, which will inform the instrumental R&D of the group. This will be accomplished by incorporating different detector parameters in the LHCb simulation.Conduct physics analysis work involving the precision study of semileptonic decays to uncover signatures of physics beyond the Standard Model.Incorporate theory tools, such as EOS or HAMMER, into the physics analyses program.Contribute to the integration of the upstream detector in LHCb and develop the monitoring infrastructure.Collaborate with the commissioning team and be responsible for specific modules as determined at the time of appointment.Application Instructions:In addition to completing an online application, please submit a curriculum vitae, a list of publications, and a cover letter that includes a short description of your qualifications, along with the e-mail addresses/phone numbers of three references.About Syracuse University:
