This recruitment will remain active for a period of one year, from the position opening date. NOCCCD is now accepting applications for a Counselor Pool-Part-Time position at Fullerton College!Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree in counseling, rehabilitation counseling, clinical psychology, counseling psychology, guidance counseling, educational counseling, social work, or career development, marriage and family therapy, or marriage, family and child counseling.ORA bachelor’s degree in one of the above listed degrees and a license as a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) is an alternative qualification for this discipline.ORThe equivalent. Equivalent qualifications may include related education, training, employment and professional experience that would be equal to the required degree(s) and experience in this field as determined by the District Equivalency Committee.Commitment to diversity. All applicants must have demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty and staff. The applicant must be able to demonstrate how these factors relate to the need for equity minded practices within the classroom.Desirable Qualifications

Two years of experience, including both counseling and teaching.Demonstrated knowledge and competency of community college counseling with specific knowledge in areas such as transfer and articulation, probation, career and technical education, STEM, athletics, First-Year Experience, Completion and other unique areas of counseling. Demonstrated knowledge of career development counseling theory/principles and the use of career assessment tools.Experience counseling, coordinating, and/or working with varied student populations, such as student athletes, financial aid, STEM students, Puente, and/or working with student support programs for at risk and/or disproportionately impacted students and creating equitable outcomes for all students. Knowledge and understanding of state initiatives such as AB19 and Guided Pathways.Demonstrated success in supporting students from historically underrepresented and/or marginalized groups, using culturally responsive pedagogical techniques.Documents Needed to Apply
