We bring our industry expertise together to continually push the boundaries of what insurance can be for our clients.Coaction is seeking a strong Technical Lead & Senior Developer with a minimum of 1 year of Duck Creek Billing Platform to play a lead role for the maintenance & building enhancements to the Billing application. We are looking for a high-energy, solution-oriented problem solver with a track record of being results driven. The individual must be a strong communicator who can function effectively across work streams and collaborate with functional teams to understand problem statements, propose solution options, and facilitate stakeholder review sessions.Responsibilities:Serve as technical SME and solution architect for the design, configuration, customization and integration of the application for various support & development work items.Serve as gatekeeper to perform code merge and code versioning for various inflight development work items to ensure integrity of production code.Monitor performance of nightly batch cycle for capacity, processing error ratio, deadlocks, scheduling and sequencing, I/O data quality and transaction volumes.Follow defined change control and release management processes.Assist team members by overseeing and serving as a mentor for technical design, design reviews, peer programming, code reviews, white-box testing, component testing and system integration testing.Work with Business Analysts & Quality Assurance Analysts to assist in functional testing particularly to triage reported issues in a timely manner.Responsible for defect resolution planning and execution.Act as primary liaison between the Tier 1/Tier 2/Tier 3 Duck Creek Base product teams for ongoing fix/change/upgrade related activities.Ensure base product defects are reported accurately and in a timely manner including adequate documentation of the repeatable failure path for prompt issues recreation by the Base team.Perform alpha and beta testing for Base product defect fixes and enhancements.Responsible for taking custom builds and full platform upgrades for fixes/changes/maintenance releases from the Duck Creek Base product team.Perform impact analysis of reported issues including downstream processes both internal and external to the Billing application.Perform root cause analysis and identify long and short-term solutions for technical & architectural issues.Perform base install testing to determine if root cause is a Base product issue vs. customization/configurations.Use creativity and innovation to deliver prototypes earlier in the development cycle to users/testers for various fixes and changes to reduce the feedback loop and for early testing.Actively champion pre-release testing to reduce defect/fix/retest cycle and to crunch development timeframes in general.Ensure industry best practices are applied when developing solutions including ensuring performance, usability, security, data retention & archival, scalability, user experience and other productivity considerations.Propose preventive and perfective maintenance activities and upgrades to fine-tune the application for improved performance and maintenance.Employ agile development methodologies like XP, Kanban and Scrum for high velocity. Recommend waterfall as required.Develop effective estimation models to come up with various levels of effort estimation for backlog prioritization & pipeline planning (eg. SWAG, ROM, Level 1, Level 2).Qualifications:Minimum of 1 year of Duck Creek Billing Platform.Experience implementing static, dynamic, pencil edit, and iterative forms is desired.Strong technical skills in Microsoft.Net framework including proficiency in C#, SQL Server, Web services/APIs, XML, HTML.Proficiency in object-oriented programming, database, data structures, algorithms, and Web technologies.Strong debugging & troubleshooting skills.Highly analytical and structured thinking, with the innate curiosity and creativity to innovate unorthodox solutions to problems.Strong customer orientation, communication, and interpersonal skills, to help negotiate priorities.Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field.Equal Opportunity EmployerCoaction is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
