This position is unique, as multiple campuses (Bristol Bay Campus, Chukchi Campus, Interior Alaska Campus, Kuskokwim Campus, Northwest Campus) may be hiring when graduate teaching/research assistants are needed to work on sponsored projects or classroom support. The position may be part-time or full-time. Incumbents will join faculty and researchers actively conducting research in various disciplines. This may include working on one or more funded projects in these research areas under the guidance of Principal Investigators.

To thrive in this role, the applicant should possess strong communication skills to effectively interact with colleagues and customers. Attention to detail is crucial for maintaining accuracy in tasks such as data entry or inventory management. Additionally, a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment will ensure success in meeting deadlines and achieving team goals. Applicants should have an understanding of how learning and creative processes work, knowledge and experience with rural Alaska Native communities and cultures, and be able to collaborate and work in a diverse environment. Good writing, editing, organizational, and communication skills are essential. Familiarity with Blackboard, Google Docs, and the Microsoft Office Suite programs is also required.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree and enrollment in a graduate program at the University of Alaska.

Position Details:

Student pay is determined based on degree level. Master's students are paid $24.50 hourly equivalent. PhD students are paid $29.00 hourly equivalent.

This is a pooled position which means that the position remains open over the entire academic year.

This position is represented by the Alaska Graduate Workers Association (AGWA/UAW).
