ITD Precision Houston is currently seeking a Director of Engineering.SUMMARY

Leads our tool and die engineering, tool fabrication, tool maintenance, program management, and new product developmentteams. The ideal candidate will drive innovation, ensure successful project execution, and alignengineering efforts with our company’s strategic goals.Key Responsibilities

Oversee and manage all engineering, tooling, and technical activities, ensuring projects are within budget, on time, and production-readyLead and develop engineering teams, including tool & die engineers, tool makers, and program managersManage staffing, training, and supervision of technical personnelCoordinate engineering activities with manufacturing functionsLead new program quoting to support sales initiativesDrive continuous improvement in product development and engineering processesCollaborate with customers on new tool requirements and participate in design reviewsManage supply chain and inventory for parts and suppliesImplement and maintain detailed documentation for all tool and die processesChampion cost reduction initiatives and efficiency improvementsStay current on industry trends and new technologiesDevelop machining capability in-house for the tool & die team and deliver high-quality precision piece parts required to build internal toolingCreate collaborative business plans with design engineering, upstream production, and support teams and develop and maintain positive supplier/customer relationshipsWork between manufacturing and design engineers, machinists, technicians, and quality personnel to ensure processes are robust and any production problems are quickly solvedLeverage the latest technologies and programming strategies to reduce in-cycle interventionIdentify, recommend, procure, and install machine shop equipment as well as ensure all equipment is thoroughly maintained and calibratedResearch and identify new materials, manufacturing technologies, and finishing optionsInform estimations of prototype and production manufacturing costs - tooling, secondary assembly, secondary finishing, and piece partQualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferredMinimum 10 years of experience in a medium/high volume progressive stamping manufacturing environment10 years of experience in a director or similar role5 years of experience in the Automotive industryStrong background in tool and die design, fabrication, and maintenanceExcellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skillsStrong analytical abilities and decision-making capabilitiesProven track record in project management and cross-functional collaborationStrategic thinking and planningTeam leadership and developmentTechnical expertise in metal stamping and tool & die engineeringCustomer focus and relationship managementFinancial acumen and budget managementInnovation and continuous improvement mindset
