Plans, directs, and implements safety training programs to ensure a safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment. Develops and administers training programs to be delivered to Helen of Troy personnel, as well as temporary agency staff. Directs personnel involved in establishing, promoting, and maintaining security and property protection programs.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Plans, develops, and implements programs to train managers and employees in worksite safety practices, fire prevention, and correct handling techniques for chemicals, toxins, equipment, and other materials.Provides safety orientation for all new and temporary employees. Maintains all employee records/files regarding safety training. Registers all employees attending training. Oversees all safety committees.Inspects organization facilities to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards. Determines corrective or preventive measures where indicated and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented.Provides information, signs, posters, barriers, and other materials to warn of potential and actual safety hazards and to prevent access to hazardous conditions.Leads investigations of accidents, incidents, and injuries.Compiles and submits accident and incident reports. Measures safety performance using audits and inspections and provides reports.Sets up and maintains training facilities. Maintains and submits the OSHA 300.Develops, prepares, and presents effective training programs to employees at all levels of the organization.Schedules and introduces presentations by internal and outside speakers. Schedules annual Occupational Safety and Health Consultation (OSHCON) inspection.Assists in developing new training courses by company management, as needed. Oversees the Hazardous Material program and training.Maintains and issues Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to Helen of Troy employees. Maintains and updates Right-to-Know Stations and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS’s).Establishes operational procedures for activities such as fire prevention and firefighting, traffic control, guarding and patrolling physical property, orienting and monitoring personnel involved with classified information, and investigation of accidents and criminal acts.Confers with representatives of management to formulate policies, need for programs, and coordinate programs with warehouse activities.Confers with representatives of local government to ensure cooperation and coordination of warehouse activities with law enforcement and firefighting agencies.Monitors activities of contractors, vendors, visitors, and loss control prevention within warehouse.Maintains current contract from security agency and Product Removal Program and posts orders onsite.Updates and maintains emergency call out list. Reviews and investigates all incident reports generated by security.Activates and deactivates all employee access cards and notifies security of terminated employees.Designs and delivers training in security issues for Helen of Troy employees, as well as temporary agency employees and maintains records.Supervises employees in accordance with Helen of Troy’s policies. Interviews, hires, and trains employees. Prepares work schedules, assigns duties, and directs work. Evaluates quality of work, conducts performance appraisals, and counsels employees. Addresses complaints and resolves problems.Performs other duties as assigned.*Bilingual in Spanish/English Preferred*EDUCATION OR EQUIVALENT REQUIRED

High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma and specialized or technical training OR 2 years related experience equivalent to specialized or technical training.EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Minimum Years of Experience Required: 2 Maximum Years of Experience Required: 3LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Certification Forklift Instructor, Certification 1st Aid/CPR/AED, Certification OSHA 10 Hour General Industry, and Hazardous Material Certification.Wondering if you should apply?
