Offshore Substation Structural Expert
is mainly involved in the following:
Prior to the Consultation Phases:
Responsible for the technical and functional specifications of RTE’s offshore substations, including:
Updating and improving the technical client requirements specifications (ERS) within the CNER’s technical teams (Cables Department, Control & Protection Department) and in coordination with other RTE entities (Project Execution (DIIREM), IT systems (DSIT), Operations Department (DEXPL), Operations & Maintenance Department (DMRP), Contracting (DA));
Reviewing and contributing to the preparation of technical tender deliverables (excluding ERS specifications) which come under the responsibility of other departments;
Providing support to the DIIREM teams for the provision of technical data and the technical follow-up and verification of surveys (support during the dialogue process and when preparing the authorisation files, technical review of FEED preliminary design studies, review of on-site survey data, etc.).
During the EPCIC and O&M Tendering Phases:
Technical coordinator of a group of engineering experts, within the team or in other entities;
Responsible for the technical analysis and notation of the EPCIC and O&M tenders;
Contributing to the overall bid analysis with other RTE entities.
During the EPCIC and O&M Execution Phases (Main Tasks):
Technical lead for all structural (topsides, jacket, foundation) and corrosion protection matters;
Autonomously responsible for technical analysis and follow-up of deliverables produced by EPCIC contractors and O&M (structural disciplines);
Coordinating with a group of engineering experts, within the team or in other entities;
Contributing to contractual matters during the EPCIC implementation and O&M phases.
Planning and Organisation:This is a full-time position, onboarded in the POSEIDON team. The duration of the mission is
2 years (220 days per year) . The number of projects is steadily growing and there can be opportunities for extensions in time.
Deliverables / Livrables de la mission:
Technical specifications (Employer Requirement Specifications, Basis of Design, Scope of Work) for Structural discipline and corrosion protection;
Technical evaluations and notation report;
Coordination with other departments: Meeting coordination and reporting (MoM);
Any other deliverables required for the technical management of the offshore substations EPCIC and O&M projects;
Monthly report of activities progress, submitted to the Division Manager.
Qualification:
5-10 years' experience in Engineering, Construction, Installation, Commissioning, Operation, and Maintenance of Offshore Substations or Oil & Gas platforms;
Expertise in the Structural Disciplines for Offshore Substations or Oil & Gas platforms;
Experience of Structural Discipline Technical Lead either on Client side or EPCIC or Engineering firm;
Demonstrated team-working ability;
Language: Project deliverables / project language is English. French is a plus to communicate in French (e-mails, deliverables) with the other teams (experts, projects).
Conditions:Position is at the RTE HQ offices at La Défense in Paris on a resident basis. Arrangements may be made for remote working / Télé-travail (e.g. 2 days per week, or 1 week office/1 week remote, to be discussed with the POSEIDON Division Manager and after an initial resident period) but always with a basis of physical presence at the office.
