Job DescriptionOur fast-growing, mid-sized Plaintiff Employment and Workers’ Compensation law firm is seeking multiple full-time, experienced and professional Civil Litigation Paralegals for immediate hire!
This position is currently remote; however, we will be transitioning to be fully in-office within the year. Duties include managing a caseload of 30-35 active cases, filing in state and federal court, discovery, maintaining attorney and court calendars, reviewing and organizing documents, and providing full support as a paralegal.
Requirements and Responsibilities:
Must be fully bilingual in English/Spanish – verbal and written.
Must have at least 1+ years of litigation case management/paralegal experience
Case management through all stages of litigation, up to and including mediation, settlement, and trial
Calendar management, including managing attorney calendar, calendaring deadlines, statutes, coordinating and scheduling depositions, mediations, hearings, and other appearances
Experience in filing and e-filing in State, Appellate, and Federal Courts
Experience in propounding and responding to discovery
Experience drafting pleadings, motions, correspondence, memoranda, notices, and other legal documents
Experience in case management database(s) and documenting all actions related to case activity
Experience assisting with trial prep, including preparing documents, jury instructions, exhibits and exhibit lists, trial binders, etc.
Experience handling sensitive and confidential information
Provide excellent customer service while speaking to clients
Provide frequent verbal and written case related updates to clients
Provide accurate translation between attorney and clients
Highly proficient in Windows based PCs
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Proficient in Adobe Reader/Adobe Pro
Detail oriented with ability to accurately complete tasks in an efficient and timely manner
Reliable, trustworthy, punctual, and hard-working
Motivated with a desire to go above and beyond
High level of patience and ability to work closely with a team
Able to work independently and efficiently with the confidence and ability to take ownership of projects
Excellent multi-tasking and organizational skills
Able to communicate effectively and efficiently with attorneys, clients, staff, opposing counsel, court personnel, experts, vendors, etc.
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
Must be quick-thinking, possess common sense, and have the ability to think outside the box
Able to work well under pressure and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Preferences:
1+ year(s) of litigation experience
Employment background a plus
Accustomed to a 30+ caseload
