Job Summary/Objective

This executive is directly responsible for the oversight and leadership of Medvantx Human Resources. Reporting to the CEO, the Head of Human Resources plays a vital, strategic, and highly engaged role. This executive will build and execute the Human Resources strategy in support of our overall business plan and strategic direction of the organization. As a member of our senior Leadership Team, the Head of Human Resources is a strategic partner and coach to our CEO and peer executives.

Key ResponsibilitiesServe as the HR business partner and confidante to our CEO and senior Leadership Team.Design, implement, and direct our Human Resources team (aka “People Team”) strategy. Create and execute related project plans. Direct a staff of onsite and/or remote HR practitioners.Partner with the business to design and manage core HR programs and workflow, e.g.:

Talent management – talent acquisition, performance management process, talent review & succession planning, management/employee development, engagement, DE&I.Total rewards – strategies and delivery of competitive compensation & benefits offerings.Labor practices and employee relations - in-depth knowledge of operational and legal requirements related to day-to-day workforce management, competent assessing legal risks and ensuring HR regulatory compliance. Partners with outside counsel as needed.HR Operations & Systems – proficient leveraging and assessing HR technology, demonstrated ability to improve core HR work processes, partners with various external vendors (e.g. HRIS, benefits broker, hybrid RPO/staffing model, local temp agencies).Frontline manager development, e.g.

Managing for Performance

(career development, coaching & counseling, disciplinary actions).Analyze business and workforce trends and metrics to develop People Team solutions, programs, and policies.

Partner with business leaders to champion change management initiatives. Serve as a role model leader and change agent in our organization.

Critical SkillsBusiness acumen.Executive level interface and presence.Entrepreneurial mindset - Medvantx is a small company (260 associates, 50 CWs mid FY24).Experienced HR leader, but still capable of being hands-on as appropriate (player/coach).Team & Organizational Leadership SME.Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills.Demonstrated Project and Change Management skills.Influence – able to engage, inspire, and influence people.Coach – adept at diagnosing people issues and enabling leaders to connect behaviors to outcomes and implement appropriate solutions.Lead and/or direct effective, thorough and objective HR investigations.Results Oriented – driver & quantitative/metrics approach to people and talent related programs.Proactive – highly motivated self-starter and intellectually curious with a tendency towards action.Adaptable – must adapt to a dynamic, rapidly changing business environment.Discretion & Confidentiality – trusted partner and confidant to senior leadership and the broad organization, upholds a high degree of confidentiality with sensitive information and data.

QualificationsBachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree in Business or Human Resources discipline preferred.Minimum of 10 years professional HR experience required with demonstrated success - business partner, talent management, and total rewards.Knowledge of multiple human resources disciplines including compensation, talent acquisition, organizational analysis, employee relations, talent management.Experience leading a cross-discipline HR staff and supporting multi-site operations.Strong aptitude with HR systems and automation.Analytical mindset, with solid experience using software and metrics to inform decision making.Strong knowledge of HR related state and federal laws and regulations (e.g. EEOC, FLSA).Physical DemandsThe physical demands of this position are in keeping with general office functions: sitting, using a computer, keyboard, telephone, etc.Up to 25% travel expectation (operations located in Sioux Falls, SD and Louisville, KY).Reasonable accommodations can be made for employee to perform essential job duties.
