opportunity with our Mission Critical team in Salt Lake City, UT.Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering, or similar degree5+ years of experience as an Estimator in the construction industry working on large complex projects; data centers and mission critical projects are a plus.Construction field experience preferredKnowledge of the subcontractor network in the Utah area is preferredCritical Skills:

Excellent computer skills, typing, Microsoft Office Suite, and BluebeamProficient in OnScreen Takeoff (OST)Consistently produces accurate work and has excellent attention to detailProfit orientedClear written and verbal communicationWork well in a team environmentIndustry knowledge and awareness of current market conditions and subcontractor networkDuties, Responsibilities and Expectations:

Defines work scope and selects subcontractors in cooperation with Preconstruction ManagerDevelops important relationships with subcontractors and considers the relationship when making decisionsProficient in quantity takeoffsProficient in organizing and assembling estimates in TimberlineSuccessful in hard bidding projects, organize scopes of work in bid day programBecomes proficient in conceptual estimating in Timberline through the CM Process (Program, Schematic, DD, CD, etc)Understands CPM Scheduling and can translate into construction budget. Clearly communicates with subcontractors scheduling expectations.Understands means and methods of construction. Knows the different labor productivity rates of these items.Knows unit costs of different construction materials and laborKnows overall SF cost of construction for different building typesBegins working with Sr. Estimator in design build projects (conceptual estimating, working with architects in design, manage budget)Understands VE process and participates in working sessionsCalls subcontractors and develops interest in projectsUnderstands turnover process and conveys project information comprehensivelyParticipates in forecast meetings and tracks budget vs. actual costs through constructionLearns financial risk management with subcontractor bidsSupports Big-D’s mission and values as well as all policies and proceduresBenefits:
