POSITION OVERVIEW

The Controller role is responsible for leading and supporting all daily and monthly activities of the Accounting Department, establishing and meeting timelines to achieve reporting goals, and maintaining policies, procedures, and internal controls designed to protect the organization's assets. The Controller will be accountable for the accuracy and integrity of the organization's financial transactions and records.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage all accounting functions for 20+ legal entities across 5 different business models
  • Maintain the organization's 13-week rolling cash flow forecast
  • Prepare quarterly income tax estimates
  • Support the operations of the Accounting Team including:
    • Accounts Payable
    • Accounts Receivable
    • Cash Management
    • Monthly Accounting Close
  • Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly, quarterly, and annual financial information
  • Successful and timely management of financial audit
  • Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and procedures
  • Recommend any necessary improvements to systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions
  • Identify opportunities to enhance the professional development of team members


QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA/BS in Finance or Accounting
  • CPA required
  • 7 to 10 years of professional experience with at least 5 years prior supervisory experience in accounting
  • Driven by accuracy, integrity, and accountability
  • In addition to GAAP accounting in general, must have an effective working knowledge of:
    • Revenue recognition
    • Captive insurance
    • Retail inventory accounting
    • State and local tax nexus
    • Financial statement consolidations
    • Best practice internal controls, policies, and procedures
  • Advanced-level user of MS Office products, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experienced user of NetSuite a plus
  • High attention to detail
