There is one (1) permanent, full-time vacancy with the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands, Land Management Division.Salary:

$10,075 to $16,124 per month (EM-07, Minimum to Maximum). Note: Hiring rates will be based on availability of funds, the applicant's qualifications, and other relevant factors.The Planning and Development Coordinator class assists in the overall direction of activities associated with the development of major community areas by coordinating and advising on planning, research, land management, design, engineering, construction, public information, and administrative efforts to ensure that project study, planning, and development are expedited; and performs other duties as assigned.This class has the immediate responsibility for coordinating the conduct of studies for determining specific plans for the development of major community areas and the responsibility for implementing these plans.The position vacancy in the

Research methods and procedures and the sources of information and data relative to public planning operations; principles and practices of public planning, zoning, land management, land subdivision, State and local government structure; principles and practices of public financing; socioeconomic research and standard sources and uses of socioeconomic information; principles and practices of supervision and administration.Ability to:

Plan, assign, review and coordinate the work of departmental staff, staff of other departments, and consultants representing various skills and professions engaged in planning and development activities; understand State and local laws relating to public planning, land use and development, land management, zoning, and laws relating to industrial expansion and economic development; analyze technical and administrative reports.Basic Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in public planning, architecture, landscape architecture, civil engineering, economics, or public or business administration.Excess work experience as described under the Specialized Experience below, or any other progressively responsible administrative, professional or other analytical work, experience which provided knowledge, skills and abilities comparable to those acquired in four (4) years of successful study while completing a college curriculum leading to a baccalaureate degree with a major in one of the previously cited majors, may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education. To be acceptable, the experience must have been of such scope, level and quality as to ensure the possession of comparable knowledge, skills and abilities.The education or experience background must also demonstrate the ability to write clearly and comprehensively such materials as reports and analyses; read and interpret complex written material; and solve complex problems logically and systematically.Specialized Experience:

Six (6) years of professional (DEVELOPMENT PLANNING) experience including physical planning and/or planning research, of which TWO (2) years shall have been in charge of the completion of special projects.Driver's License:
