The Core Platform Bring-up team within Apple's CoreOS organization is looking for an extraordinary software engineer to work on state-of-the-art technology, debug, and bring-up of next-generation Apple devices. This group is committed to building fully integrated operating systems that combine hardware, software, and services into a single Apple experience.DescriptionIn this role, you will have the chance to work on many core technologies for Apple products and make a major impact in how they are developed and shipped. Our working environment fosters product innovation, rapid product iteration, and a liberating amount of autonomy.Minimum QualificationsA genuine passion for embedded development.Highly proficient in C/C++.Proven creative, critical thinking and troubleshooting skills.Ability to deliver proven work on tight schedules.Knowledge of hardware platforms & processor architectures.Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in computer science or a related field.Preferred QualificationsExperience with JTAG and other debuggers.Previous experience writing embedded device drivers.Previous experience with platform bring-up or porting of operating systems.Previous exposure to hardware and processor simulation.At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $121,909 and $214,500 annualized, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
