Vice President of Academic Affairs

Howard Community College is seeking a dynamic leader to serve as Vice President of Academic Affairs. The Vice President is responsible for providing vision and direction in planning, organizing, and leading Academic Affairs. This position will ensure the highest quality of instruction to fulfill the college mission and achieve college goals and objectives in support of student learning. The successful candidate must be committed to expanding teaching and learning innovations and achieving positive educational outcomes. The Vice President is responsible for the management, evaluation, and development of instruction, distance and alternative learning, continuing education and workforce development, teaching and learning services, international education, service learning, the Mediation and Conflict Resolution Center, and learning communities. Requirements:

Requirements include an earned Doctorate and a minimum of five years of progressive administrative experience in Academic Affairs. Additionally, the successful candidate must have community college experience in supervision at or above the department dean level, budget development, administrative experience, a record of successful college teaching, full understanding of instructional technologies, experience with alternative instructional delivery methods, and a proven record of providing a supportive learning environment that enhances student success.
