DescriptionGeneral Information:Hitachi is seeking a Product Specialist – EV Charging Solutions – North America for its Raleigh, NC location.The Product Specialist – EV Charging Solutions – North America will be the technical subject matter expert on the Grid-eMotion Fleet solution in North America. This pivotal role will develop and maintain local technical expertise on the products and solutions to rapidly support Hitachi Energy’s eMobility NAM customers: from commissioning expertise, including on-site hands-on activities, to end of warranty or service the Product Specialist is the technical reference of our products during the entire life cycle.If you’re a team player and you’re looking for an exciting job in a fast-paced and rapidly growing environment, we look forward to meeting you!Mission Statement:Be one of the technical subject matter experts for the Grid-eMotion Fleet products in North America, supporting the local teams in selling, delivering, and maintaining innovative charging systems and solutions.Your responsibilities:Product Lifecycle & Expertise:For the North American products and in close relation with the Center of Competence based in Switzerland, real owner of the products composing the Grid-eMotion Fleet offering from handover of R&D up to warranty and service. The Product Specialist will be responsible for engineering and lead product design changes, if required.Support teams during project execution, commissioning activities, and warranty/service period. Lead problem-solving coming from field quality issues in collaboration with service and quality department.Develop and maintain engineering, service, and customer documentation.Product Localization technical support: the Product Specialist Grid-eMotion Fleet North America will provide the technical oversight of the local manufacturing strategy to the product localization team aiming at meeting local content requirements (Buy America) as well as optimizing the product lifecycle costs.Manage lifecycle of product components (obsolescence according to IEC 62402).In collaboration with SCM, track and keep a detailed understanding of the product cost structure and drive cost improvements.Be the technical support to the sales team during tendering phases.Collaboration with global product managers, application engineers, and R&D.Living Hitachi Energy’s core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business.Your Background:Bachelor’s degree in engineering, electrical highly preferred plus 5 or more years related experience, including site commissioning experience.Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.Significant experience in commissioning (e.g. substation).Significant competencies in drives and automation (e.g. that you can find in substation business): protection & controls, PLC software, power electronics.Must have a technical mindset to be a technical expert to build customer confidence in the product as well as shape product design and manufacturing.Able to travel 30 to 40% domestically (USA/ Canada) (+ internationally if required).
