Position Summary/Purpose of Position:The University of Maryland, College Park (UMD) is seeking a full-time Salesforce Developer to join the TerpEngage team. The Salesforce Developer will support the entire development life cycle, including designing, developing, testing, and deploying Salesforce applications. They will collaborate with UMD clients to understand requirements and configure Salesforce solutions, ensuring thorough documentation. This role will also work closely with Salesforce Admins to identify where custom code is needed to satisfy business requirements, prioritizing the use of Salesforce out-of-the-box features.Key Duties:Building custom applications using Lightning Web Components.Maintaining and improving existing applications.Troubleshooting technical issues.Creating and managing workflows, automations, and system triggers, while adhering to development standards.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent combination of education and work experience.Three (3) years of information technology experience, including two (2) years of software development on the Salesforce platform.Active Salesforce Platform Developer I certification (active as of start date).Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Knowledgeable of Apex Programming, Triggers, Batch/Schedulable/Queueable interfaces, and integration using Rest APIs.Experience working on projects involving Lightning development projects and Lightning communities.Familiarity with Salesforce development life cycle (Agile Methodology) including deployment/packaging using tools like Metadata API, ChangeSet, Visual Studio Code, Ant, and GitHub.Experience in translating functional/non-functional requirements to system requirements in one or more Salesforce Clouds.Experience in creating technical design documents.Ability to write unit tests to achieve maximum code coverage.Ability to work in teams with diverse/multiple stakeholders to solve complex business problems.Ability to multitask while demonstrating a commitment to customer service and sensitivity to a culturally and ethnically diverse community.Preferences:Any additional active Salesforce.com Certifications, including Administrator and Advanced Administrator.Experience working on higher education or similar projects.Previous experience integrating Salesforce with other technologies.Physical Demands:Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
