Lead the Accounting Operations for Award Winning Construction CompanyLocated in the Greater Hartford CT Area, On Site PositionAbout Our ClientThe Financial Controller - Construction will be a key part of the Leadership team for a Mid-Sized, Well-Established General Contracting Construction Company based in the Greater Hartford CT Area. The role will oversee the Accounting team and be a key Finance Business Partner to Divisional Heads in Operations. Based in the office 5 days a week, please review the job description and submit your resume for further consideration.Job DescriptionWe are working with a mid-sized General Contracting Construction company in the Greater Hartford CT area. The Financial Controller will play a critical role in overseeing the financial health of the organization and reporting to the CEO/CFO with Financial Strategic Planning.

Construction Project Accounting and Reporting:Oversee and manage all aspects of construction project accounting.Prepare and analyze project financial reports.Ensure accurate and timely recording of project costs, revenues, and profitability.Monitor project budgets and forecasts.

Procore Invoicing, Project Collections, and Communications:

Manage invoicing through Procore software.Ensure timely and accurate billing to clients.Oversee project collections and resolve any billing issues.Maintain effective communication with project managers and clients regarding financial matters.

Sales Tax Reporting and Compliance:

Ensure compliance with all sales tax regulations.Prepare and file sales tax returns.Keep abreast of changes in sales tax laws and implement necessary adjustments.

Effective Communication with Project Team Members:

Collaborate with project managers, site supervisors, and other team members to ensure financial transparency.Provide financial insights and support for project decision-making.

Responsible for the Accounting Team including A/P and A/R Functions:

Supervise accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.Act as a backup for A/P and A/R functions when necessary.

Monthly Accounting Functions:

Perform month-end and year-end close processes.Prepare monthly financial statements and reports.Assist with annual audits and tax preparations.Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.The Successful ApplicantCPA (preferred, not essential)Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Related Field10 + years of Construction Accounting tenureFinance team leadership experienceSystems: Procore, Sage Intacct etcWhat's on OfferThe Financial Controller will be rewarded with the following:Competitive Base SalaryBonus eligibilityPTO401k planNational Days VacationInsurance: Health, Dental and Vision CoverageAdditional training and development
