Assignment will be based on a project in the Southeast.Job Summary:The Logistics Manager will be responsible for organizing the transportation of goods. This role requires agility and the ability to influence and shape suppliers to meet the demands of dynamic construction projects and provides the project team with a clear overview of all material movements through site delivery. This position reports to the Procurement Manager and is part of the Procurement Department.Primary Duties:Ensure materials and equipment are delivered on schedule and to the correct destination.Establish and manage incoming and outbound shipping schedules.Manage the flow of resources and transportation of goods throughout the company.Negotiate with goods carriers about shipment costs.Collaborate with different divisions within the company to enhance logistics.Oversee daily logistics activities, including national and international shipments.Ensure all shipments comply with domestic and international regulations.Develop logistics strategies to optimize supply chain operations.Manage logistics data such as transportation costs and delivery lead time.Identify wide or oversized loads, storage requirements, and crane loading/unloading.Ensure the project team is informed in advance of any hazardous goods shipments.Issue Requests for Transport (RFTs) to the nominated Logistics Services provider.Maintain forecast and actual transportation and delivery dates.Assist with disposal or transfer of surplus on project completion.Manage assigned resources and work within the agreed schedule.Coordinate and administer all logistics activities between Suppliers' Works/Supply Hub and the project.Review project material and equipment shipping data from Suppliers for special transport requirements.Coordinate import customs clearances with the nominated Project Logistics Services provider.Assist in resolving over-, short-, and damaged (OSD) reports.Conduct market research and benchmarking for logistics categories.Analyze supplier performance using key metrics and manage supplier negotiations for cost reduction opportunities.Collaborate with legal departments to draft and manage logistics contracts.Lead transportation cost reduction projects and track budgets.Ability to communicate effectively with vendors and end users.Ability to report complex delivery schedules.Ability to evaluate construction site conditions.Demonstrate Yates Core Values and Principles.Follow Yates Code of Conduct.Safety Responsibilities and Expectations:Refuse unsafe work and follow established safety procedures.Report all incidents, near hits, and hazards.Participate in workplace safety programs.Comply with statutory requirements, including duty of care.Attend prestart and safety meetings.Other related duties as needed and assigned by the Manager.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or a related field.A minimum of ten (10) years of work experience.A minimum of five (5) years of work experience in industrial EPC supply chain management in a construction environment.Requirements:Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and project management skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, SQL, PowerBI, and other relevant software.Familiarity with ISO Standards and managing procurement processes effectively.Fluency in multiple languages is a bonus.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently, multi-task, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.Logistics experience in managing large-scale industrial and commercial construction projects.
