Position SummaryResponsible for monitoring and execution of accounting processes and procedure to ensure accurate and compliant data integrity of the Airbus U.S.'s financial statements. Managing day to day accounting operations including processing of transactions, journal entries, account reconciliations, and assist in preparation of financial statements in accordance with IFRS. Works closely with Corporate Accounting and Finance leadership to ensure compliance, meet deadlines, achieve accuracy, and maintain required records and other documentation.

Responsibilities

General Ledger and operational accounting: 55%

Support all aspects of general accounting function for multiple legal entities and organizations in accordance with IFRS

Manage full cycle of operational accounting and month end close including reviewing close calendar and monitor internal and corporate reporting deadlines

Monitors and analyzes accounting data and prepare/review monthly account reconciliations

Establishes and maintains fiscal files and records to document transactions

Provide shared services on accounting financial reporting to Airbus U.S. subsidiaries

Liaison of internal and external audits and internal control fitchecks, manage the audit PBC and requests to ensure timely submission and completion of the audits

Financial reporting: 25%

Prepare periodic closing reporting and supporting schedules. Perform consolidation, prepares financial statements including but not limited to consolidated balance sheet, income statement, cashflow and equity statement, ensuring compliance with all reporting and disclosure requirements under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standard (CAS) as required

Responsible for financial reporting of Airbus U.S. Space & Defense, Inc. to the Airbus Defense and Space consolidation team in Europe

Support and coordinate financial reporting of other US subsidiaries and affiliates if needed

Government contracting and indirect rates: 10%

Responsible for Company's Indirect Rate allocation which include Fringe Benefit, Service Center Allocation and G&A as part of Month end close process

Maintain data integrity in allocation base and pool for accurate cost allocation to be compliant with FAR and CAS

Special Projects: 10%

Assist various projects for process improvement including SOP development and enhancement, streamline processes and procedures for accurate and timely financial reporting

Support M&A Transactional Analysis and Finance System Integration

Provide functional backup for tax, audit and consolidation schedules.

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting

Experience:

Five (5) years of accounting experience

Three (3) years of Public Accounting experience or a minimum of two (2) years of Financial Reporting experience

Two (2) years' experience managing a professional accounting team

Knowledge of and/or experience working with general ledger systems and reporting packages, specifically Costpoint.

Working knowledge of government contracting, solid understanding of indirect rates and cost pools

Working knowledge and experience with and developing general ledger system, account reconciliations and financial statements including Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Statement of Equity, and Statement of Cash Flows

Experience managing financial statement audits

Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:

Understanding of general accounting policies and procedures at a transaction level.

Attention to detail to prepare and review financial statements and proper filings and disclosures.

Proficient in Microsoft software applications, specifically Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.

Ability to disaggregate, analyze and reconcile consolidated financial data in an accurate and timely manner.

Effective communication skills, with the ability to clearly and concisely express ideas both verbally and in writing, this will include communication of accounting policies and procedures to corporate team members.

Absolute discretion and confidentiality regarding sensitive information.

Ability to take initiative to identify, prioritize and implement all elements required for the team to fulfill responsibilities in accordance with core strategic goals.

Strong problem-solving skills, including ability to effectively address any issue in collaboration with others as appropriate; ability to proactively identify and prevent potential problems.

Ability to work well under pressure and effectively handle multiple, concurrent demands and appropriately prioritize responsibilities.

Physical Requirements:

Carrying: able to carry documents and/or electronic equipment up to 20lbs/9kg.

Lifting: able to lift documents and/or electronic equipment up to 20lbs/9kg.

Pushing/Pulling: able to push/pull items in office areas.

Sitting: able to sit for extended periods of time at computer and in meetings.

Squatting/Kneeling: able to occasionally squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items shelved on bottom shelves.

Standing: able to stand for extended periods of time.

Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice.

Walking: able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces.
