Government Acquisitions Inc. (GAI) – is seeking a Virtualization Engineer to join our team to support Government activities in Sterling, VA or Annapolis Junction, MD. As a Virtualization Engineer, you will be responsible for physical/virtual platforms, server build deployments, server virtualization, hyperconverged platforms, etc. Make it your own by discovering new ways to apply the latest technologies securely and expertly. You'll become a critical part in how we successfully solve our clients' biggest challenges, deliver on promise, and innovate the client's physical/virtual infrastructure for the future.

Job Description & Work Responsibilities (Tasks include but are not limited to the following):Designs and builds virtual environment service models including Infrastructure-as-a-Service and Platform-as-a-Service.Identifies, designs, and implements process improvements for the virtualization of and distribution of applications: automating manual processes, optimizing delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability.Designs, implements, and maintains VMWare vSphere virtualization infrastructure, including ESXi hosts, vCenter Server, and vSAN.Analyze user's requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications.Incorporate new plans, designs and systems into ongoing operations.Develops system architecture and system design documentation.Interacts with the Government regarding technical considerations and for associated problems, issues, or conflicts.Responsible for the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the Systems Engineering area of responsibility.Qualifications/Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, or KVM.Proficiency in configuring and optimizing virtual machines, storage, and networking.Knowledge with configuration of virtual switches and VLANs.VMware Certified Professional certification.Researches and evaluates new concepts and processes to improve performance.Analyzes cross-functional problem sets, identifies root causes and resolves issues.Assists more junior level technicians, specialists, and managers in their activities.Can perform all tasks of lower level technicians, specialists, and/or managers.Interpersonal/Teamwork/Problem Solving:Works individually, actively participates on integrated teams, and leads multiple tasks, projects or teams.Oversees and monitors performance, and when required, takes steps to resolve issues.Provides guidance and direction to lower level technicians, specialists, and managers.Directs multiple teams through to project completion.Certifications, Licenses, and Clearances:

DoD 8570 compliance or information assurance certification commensurate with technical objectives and services required within the task order.Applicable software or hardware training and certifications commensurate with the technical objectives, services required, and IT environment specified within the task orders.Active TS/SCI with CI poly required.About Government Acquisitions, Inc.
